The Scottish government has published a new cloud procurement framework with 14 providers approved to bid for contracts estimated to be worth £30m.
The cloud procurement framework is part of the Scottish government’s efforts to give access to the public sector organisations and charities operating in the region to IT resources that are hosted locally, are sustainable, and offered by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The new framework marks a continuation of the government’s bid to push public sector organisations to strengthen their datacentres and boost the efficiency of their IT estates in line with its Data Hosting and Data Centre Strategy for the Scottish Public Sector published in April 2014.
